You know things are grim when all those Smiths lyrics start making sense again. I’ve said for years that the most fucked-up things about the Smiths wasn’t the bleakness of their lyrics, but that Morrissey was an adult and not a teenager when he wrote them. I guess I just needed the right attitude to adjust that opinion.

Sending you a super big internet hug … *hug*!!!
Isn’t it funny how easy it is to turn to the Smiths when you’re feeling blue. Maybe it’s when you are feeling like shit, you want to *hear* what you are feeling.
“This night has opened my eyes / and I will never sleep again…”
I have been reading your weblog for some months now and I often find myself relating to what you feel, and I wanted to let you know that. You really struck a cord with the “too cool for the normals, not cool enough for the partiers” comment. I too often find myself straddling that thin line.

That is so incredibly true, but I didn’t think it when I was 15. I just thought he was my soulmate. It’s only now that I realize how tragic it is that a grown man was still living his teen angst.
heh. i guess there’s just a time and a place for everything (i say as i try to wean myself from a distressing and persistent natalie merchant kick).
Just want to echo Charles’ reply.
