Subway Stories

It only dawned on me yesterday that the videos from the WYSIWYG Talent Show were still languishing on our old web server, which is rather a terrible waste considering how much more easily you can handle video on the internet now thanks to YouTube. So without further ado, here’s a clip of me from March 2005, reading my bit at “The City That Never Shuts Up: New York Stories”.

  1. This was great.. It reminded me of the time on the Brooklyn-bound F train I had to put up with someone singing “Harmony” at the top of his lungs, with one lyric change: “AND YOU CAN KISS MY BLACK ASS…AND DREAM OF THE NEVER, NEVERLEAVING HARMONY…” And the time on the uptown A train, after having to put up with the loud bantering of a group of friends, one of whom leaves after telling them about a party and saying: “Be there, or BE WHITE!” One of his friends says, “Yo, every time you say that all the white people look up at you!” Ah, New York stories…
