I’ve always made it a point to scope out people’s book and cd collections (and they better have both) since they. IMO, give you a good idea about the person.
OH! I just found out that the new volume of Peanuts that comes out the end of April/beginning of May has an introduction by John Waters!

I did just that!
I invited a guy to my place for some action. He asked me what I did for a living, and after I told him I was a librarian, he said the standard dumbass thing: “you must like to read a lot.” But I forgave him. He asked me what my favorite book was (it’s Sula). I asked him the same thing, but he couldn’t think of one. I asked him what was the best book he’s read in the last two years, and he said he hadn’t read a book in the last two years.
I sent him on his way.
