{"id":1883,"date":"2010-04-28T11:05:15","date_gmt":"2010-04-28T11:05:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ultrasparky.org\/blog\/2010\/04\/28\/oh_coney_my_con\/"},"modified":"2023-07-18T14:38:24","modified_gmt":"2023-07-18T18:38:24","slug":"oh_coney_my_con","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ultrasparky.org\/blog\/2010\/04\/28\/oh_coney_my_con\/","title":{"rendered":"Oh Coney, My Coney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The start of Summer<\/strong> always makes me long for Coney Island, especially now that it&#8217;s so far away and I&#8217;ll probably never see it again before it finally gives in to all the pressure and becomes something else.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ultrasparky.org\/blog\/cam\/226083539_fc31431e98_o.jpg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"640\" alt=\"Wonder Wheel\" vspace=\"5\"><\/p>\n<p>But there&#8217;s so much to love. If you haven&#8217;t been there it may be hard to see past the decay and appreciate the real charm that comes from the liveliness of the place, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scoutingny.com\/?p=1984\">visible signs of a long, colorful history<\/a>. I\u2019ve always had trouble putting my finger on my love for the place, although it&#8217;s such a goldmine of lettering and kitsch that it&#8217;s easy to understand what first sucked me in.
