I also love that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pantufla\/2247631960\/in\/photostream\/\"  title=\"Scan of the print edition\">print article<\/a> about the contest winners shows Alberto&#8217;s illustration along with my other <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/itsmeng\/2196418621\/in\/pool-tilleycontest\"  title=\"Gay Eustace\">two<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/44943841@N00\/2215584065\/in\/pool-tilleycontest\"  title=\"The Springfieldian\">favorites<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I never knew him that well, but like many of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.markscarola.com\"  title=\"Mark Scarola\">remarkable<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citizenstudio.com\"  title=\"Chris Doherty\">talented<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/wherewherewhere.net\/\" >trail-blazing<\/a> guys I know from my Regis years, Alberto is &#8212; at the very least &#8212; a triple threat: he&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.albertoforero.com\/d_main.htm\" >designer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.albertoforero.com\/i_main.htm\" >illustrator<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.albertoforero.com\/m_main.htm\" >musician<\/a>. Go check him out, and maybe send some work his way.<\/p>\n<p>(Speaking of the school newspaper, someday I need to write about how it was working on the school newspaper that turned me from a compulsive doodler into a future typographer, due in large part to my fascination with using a VariTyper machine to set headlines using all the cool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linotype.com\/195888\/itcavantgardegothic-family.html\" >Avant Garde<\/a> alternate glyphs.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eustace Tilley Subway by Alberto Forero (2008) Originally uploaded by pantufla.
