It\u2019s True! I <a href=\"https:\/\/ultrasparky.org\/blog\/1999\/12\/14\/what_i_learned\/\">really<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/ultrasparky.org\/blog\/2001\/12\/19\/bah_humbug\/\">hate<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/ultrasparky.org\/blog\/2002\/01\/07\/kaboom\/\">Christmas<\/a>. Actually, I tend to have a perfectly lovely time on the day itself, being a big sap who appreciates the company of friends and loved ones, but the whole season leading up to it makes me wanna hurl. I hate the pressure, I hate the schmaltz, I hate the errands, I usually hate the weather. Miserable, all of it. And yes, I would like it more if I weren\u2019t generally very poor and very busy this time of year. Since I\u2019m exceptionally busy and exceptionally poor right now, I\u2019m hatin\u2019 Christmas like never before. My observance of the holiday will probably be limited to extravagances on the scale of a traditional <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bright.net\/~hohenbri\/season1.htm#Christmas\">Little House<\/a><\/i> celebration, so I hope no one blinks if they get shiny new pennies or tin-foil stars this year. I\u2019d much rather have a very special Arbor Day instead.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m very pleased, then, that we at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wysiwygtalentshow.org\">WYSIWYG Talent Show<\/a> are thumbing our noses at the birth of Christ this year, and choosing to honor the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gotquestions.org\/twelve-tribes-Israel.html\">Tribes<\/a> this year:<\/p>\n<p><center><a title=\"Sumthin' Jewy This Way Comes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wysiwygtalentshow.org\/shows\/121305\/index.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ultrasparky.org\/blog\/img\/sumthin_jewy_promo.jpg\" alt=\"Sumthin' Jewy This Way Comes\" width=\"400\" height=\"520\" vspace=\"5\" \/><\/a><\/center>Here in the big city, everyone\u2019s a little bit Jewish (which is one of those things that makes New York extra-awesome, in my opinion), so just say \u201cNo!\u201d to Santa\u2019s minions this year, and choose the Chosen People at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ps122.org\">P.S. 122<\/a> next Tuesday!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2019Tis the season when I start crabbing about how much I hate Christmas.
