More later: I’m pooped and I have an iBook with a cracked screen to grumble about today. But here's the latest batch of travel photos:

1) Frankenstein: Easy-peasy. Beantown. Home of Red Sox Nation. (Aug 19, 2002 9:52 AM)

2) theRegent: Goodness gracious, Frankenstein... priorities, priorities... A cracked iBook screen? Gads, the horror. (Aug 20, 2002 11:01 AM)

3) Sparky: And wouldn't you just know it that Apple doesn't consider that something covered by the warranty? And do you know what it costs to replace an iBook screen? 800 smackeroos! Yess, that is about half the cost of the whole thing, purchased only a few months ago. There goes my discretionary spending money for the next few months, and possibly my winter vacation with it.... 5) Sparky: Not a bad idea, ol' chum, but I have the all-white, rectangular style of iBook. I wouldn't want to graft some curvy thing onto it and create a mishapen freak of nature. (Aug 20, 2002 11:35 AM)

6) Frankenstein: It's not covered by the warranty? Damn. That sucks... (Aug 21, 2002 10:39 AM)

7) John Cluley: Hey bud! Sorry to hear about the iBook. Up until yesterday I used to work for Applein Australia, and generally cracked screens are consodered abuse and therefore not covered by warranty. It depends on how the crack occurred. If it was dropped its not covered but if it crackede through use of the hinge etc, it may be covered. Im typing this on what is probably the same model as you and if you have the "stiff hinge" scenario you may be able to link the cracked screen to that and calim it under warranty. (Tell them it was so hard to open it cracked). Anyway, i sent you an email and said i was gonna include my pic but i forgot the attachment. Ill send it seperate. Keep up the good work!
